Dhakal appeals to Rastriya Swatantra Party seeking reinstatement of his post
The dismissal without giving a chance to appeal is against the precedents of the Supreme Court, he argued.Post Report
Expelled as general secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party on August 27, Mukul Dhakal filed a petition with the party’s appellate committee demanding the reinstatement of him in his old position, arguing action taken against him was against the party statute.
Dhakal filed the application as per clause 57 of the party statute and sought the reason for depriving him of his right to offer clarification on the allegations made against him.
“Clause 56 (4) of the statute has a provision regarding the clarification of the charges leveled against a party member. However, I have not even been asked for any clarification when I was relieved from the post of general secretary, spokesperson, and central committee member,” he said.
Dhakal claimed that the action against him was vengeful and stemmed from his opposition to party chair Rabi Lamichhane for the latter’s alleged involvement in various misappropriations.
He reminded that the decision to remove him from responsibility without giving him a chance to appeal was against the precedents of the supreme court and also against the principle of natural justice.
