The Nepali Congress kicked off its “Nepali Congress in community” campaign from Jhapa on Saturday.
The event was launched amidst a function led by Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa at the entry point of the Postal Highway (Hulaki Rajmarg) in Bhadrapur. The other General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma and former general secretary Krishna Prakash Sitaula were also present during the event.
The campaign has been initiated with a view to receive complaints as well as feedback directly from the people, and hold direct conversations with party members and the public alike, Thapa said.
As part of the campaign, Thapa is scheduled to hold interaction sessions in Kunjibari, Khajura Gachhi, and Chowki Ghat of Jhapa.
“I will listen to workers, farmers, employed as well as unemployed youths, women, and the elderly from across the nation during the course of this campaign,” Thapa said.
The event, scheduled to end in Kanchanpur on February 9, will have interactive functions in more than 20 districts along the Postal Highway.
Congress has planned the nationwide campaign weeks after another major political party CPN-UML’s leaders travelled across the country through the Mid-Hill Highway a month ago.
Also, Rastriya Swatantra Party has announced similar campaigns mainly focusing on 21 major development projects.
