The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party has decided to support the candidate of Janata Samajbadi Party in the by-elections in Bara constituency-2.
The Janata Samajbadi Party is preparing to field party chairman Upendra Yadav in the by-elections for the House of Representative seat from the constituency.
Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Mahanta Thakur took the decision.
Party senior leader Rajendra Mahato was an aspirant for the Bara-2 seat.
Talking to the Post, leader Mahato said that he will not contest the election as the party has decided to support the candidate of the ruling alliance.
The by-elections have been scheduled for April 23 after Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, who was elected as a House of Representatives member from Bara-2 was elected as the vice president. By-elections for lower House seats from Chitwan-2 and Tanahun-1 will also be held on the same day.
In Bara-2, the ruling coalition including Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) have also decided to support Yadav’s candidacy.
As per the election schedule, the candidates should file their nominations by Monday.
