Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav elected leader of parliamentary party of Janata Samajbadi Party

Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav on Wednesday has been elected unopposed as the leader of the parliamentary party of the Janata Samajbadi Party, informed Nawal Kishore Sah, a party leader.
Ram Sahay has been elected to the House of Representatives from Bara 2.
The party’s federal council chair and lawmaker Ashok Rai and lawmakers Raj Kishore Yadav and Nawal Kishore Sah were contenders for the post for a long time. However, Ram Sahay, considered close to party president Upendra Yadav, was elected.
A meeting of the party’s political committee to decide whether or not to join the Pushpa Kamal Dahala-led government will be held by January 3 next year.
Ram Sahay started his political journey in 1990 with Nepal Sadbhawana Party. He was the founding general secretary of the Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum and had an active role in the first Madhesh Movement (2007).
He began his parliamentary career in the first Constituent Assembly in 2008. He was elected a member from Bara on the then Forum ticket and was re-elected from the same place in 2017. He had served as the Minister of Forest and Environment in the former Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
