A youth of around 24 years of age died during what SP Ram Prasad Shrestha described as an exchange of fire between the gang and police men.

According to SP Shrestha, the notorious gang comprising around a dozen members opened fire after they came acorss a police patrol.

But the other members of the gang fled the scene after a breif fire exchange, police claimed.

Police have intensified patrol and search here following a rise in the incidents of robbery, kidnapping and extortion in the district in the recent past, RSS reported.
