At least 104 Nepalis are among 261 foreign nationals unaccounted for after a flood struck a border port in Tibet, Chinese state broadcaster China Global Television Network (CGTN) reported on Sunday.

According to CGTN, the missing foreigners include 49 Indian nationals, 33 Latvians, 18 Americans and 15 British nationals, among others.

Chinese authorities have notified the relevant embassies and consulates about the missing foreign nationals, the broadcaster said, citing a press conference held on Sunday morning.

The Chinese authorities said no foreign tourists remained stranded in Gyirong County.

Nepali and Chinese authorities have been carrying out rescue and evacuation operations in the affected areas, while officials continue to assess the extent of damage and search for those still missing.
