CIB team reaches Surkhet to investigate Inisa’s death

A specialist team from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has reached Surkhet to conduct further investigations into the death of Inisa BK.
BK, 16, originally from Gurbhakot Municipality-6 in Surkhet, who had been living in Birendranagar-1 to pursue her higher secondary education with her mother and brother, was found unconscious in the Bhairab Community Forest on March 7.
Police and locals rushed Inisa to the Provincial Hospital in Birendranagar where doctors declared her dead later that day. Family members claim that Inisa was raped before being killed.
The deployment of the CIB team acted on a request from the District Police Office after completing the first round of investigations.
Superintendent of Police of the district police office, Surkhet, Sudhir Raj Shahi confirmed that the team led by inspector reached Birendranagar on Thursday.
“The postmortem report has come out. Electronic materials like mobile phones of the victim and suspects have been sent to a forensic laboratory at the centre for examination,” he said, “We will reach the final conclusion about Inisa’s death after the reports are received.”
Similarly, a specialist team from the Karnali Provincial Police Office, Nepalgunj reached the district to conduct polygraph testing to assist the investigations. “Polygraph testing is used to verify statements of suspects. Police are conducting investigations after collecting available details,” said Shahi.
