Seven injured in clash between Chinese and local workers in Sinduli
Dispute over employee dismissal turns violent, police say.Post Report
Seven people were injured in a clash between Chinese and local workers at Ziyan Himalayan Food Company in ward 4 of Marin Rural Municipality, Sindhuli, on Monday morning.
According to the Area Police Office, Kapilakot, the incident occurred at 8:49am after a dispute over the saking of 30-year-old Nabaraj Bamjan of ward 6 in Marin Rural Municipality. The situation escalated into a physical confrontation.
Police said the information was received at 9:20am, following which a team led by a Police Inspector, along with 10 police personnel and 15 election police personnel, was deployed to the site. The incident site is around three kilometres west of the police station.
Bamjan sustained injuries to his right eye and right leg and has been referred to Sindhuli District Hospital.
Gokarna Katuwal, 22, of ward 12 of Katari Municipality, Udayapur, suffered a head injury, police said.
Five Chinese nationals working at the company were also injured. Mr Yang, 38, sustained injuries to his ear and head. Yang Haibo, 45, suffered an injury to his left hand. Qiang Chong, 40, sustained a chest injury. Chujen, 46, suffered injuries to his head and face. Leusensi, 31, sustained a head injury and is in a moderate condition.
All injured persons were taken to the Kapilakot Primary Health Centre for treatment, police said.
