Congress accuses UML of election code violations in Dhankuta
Party warns of strong protest if alleged violations are not addressed.Binod Ghimire
The Nepali Congress in Dhankuta has accused the CPN-UML of violating the election code ahead of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.
In a statement on Wednesday, the party alleged that UML candidates and elected representatives were attempting to influence voters through cash and material distribution, loudspeaker campaigns, use of party flags and symbols on vehicles, and other promotional activities.
Congress has urged the Chief Election Officer, District Administration Office, and District Election Office to investigate the candidates and take necessary action. The party warned that if violators are not penalised, it will launch strong protests from both party and public levels, emphasising the need for a fair and transparent election.
