Police open fire to arrest suspect in Kathmandu serial robberies

Police in Kathmandu opened fire while attempting to apprehend a suspect involved in a series of robberies, the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said.
One person was arrested in the incident, but authorities have not released the detainee’s name.
Kathmandu Police Chief Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa said officers fired after the suspect attacked them. The injured individual was taken to the National Trauma Centre. Police have not yet disclosed what type of weapon was recovered from the suspect.
“We will provide detailed information later,” SSP Thapa told the Post.
