The Kanti Highway has been closed indefinitely due to the risk of disasters triggered by continuous rainfall since Friday. The District Administration Office, Lalitpur, said vehicle movement along the highway has been completely halted.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said monsoon activity has intensified across several provinces, including Bagmati.
In a notice, Assistant Chief District Officer Gita Ghimire urged the public to remain cautious, warning of increased disaster risks, and advised travellers to use alternative routes in case of emergencies.
