The Home Ministry has announced a two-day public holiday on Sunday and Monday, citing continuous heavy rainfall across the country.
Home Secretary Rameshwar Dangal said the decision was taken in view of the forecast of three consecutive days of heavy rain.
According to the ministry, the holiday does not apply to disaster management offices and essential service providers.
