Hetauda
Nighttime vehicular movement has been banned on two major roads linking Hetauda and Kathmandu until October 6, following forecasts of heavy rainfall.
According to Makawanpur Chief District Officer Scheme Shrestha, vehicles will not be allowed to ply the Kanti Highway from 4 pm to 6 am and the Hetauda–Bhaise–Kathmandu road from 5 pm to 6 am.
The decision was based on rainfall predictions from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, which cited the influence of local and monsoon winds.
Shrestha urged the public to avoid long-distance or night travel unless in emergencies and to remain alert to rain-related risks.
