A young man has allegedly killed his own friend in Rainas Municipality-4, Saatbise, Lamjung.

Police said preliminary investigation shows that 22-year-old security guard Bishal Dahal, of Sindhuli’s Kamalamai-10, was killed by his companion, 30-year-old Sagar Pariyar of Rainas-3.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Resham Bohara, chief of district police office Lamjung, said that Dahal was discovered dead on Sunday in his room with head injuries, lying face down, the door locked and window open. A trained sniffer dog from Gandaki Provincial Police was deployed to assist the investigation.

Pariyar was arrested from Besisahar around 4 am on Monday while staying with another friend.

Investigations revealed the two had gone drinking at a neighbour’s shop on Saturday evening, later carrying liquor and meat back to Dahal’s room. They reportedly drank until about 3–4 am, when an argument escalated into violence.

Bohara said that Pariyar confessed to attacking Dahal with a nearby stone during police interrogation.
