A total of 377 inmates who escaped from Kailali prison on September 9 remain at large, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Of the 666 prisoners housed at the facility, only 289 have returned so far despite repeated appeals from the prison administration for fugitives to surrender.
Prison Chief Chiranjeevi Sapkota said some inmates have contacted, but more than half are still missing. Among the 18 Indian nationals jailed at Kailali, only one has returned, while the others remain at large.
Authorities said four recaptured inmates were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
Kailali prison, which held 58 women among its 666 inmates before the jailbreak on September 9, remains one of the hardest-hit facilities in the recent nationwide prison break triggered during protests earlier this month.
Search operations are continuing, and authorities have urged the remaining fugitives to surrender without further delay.
