One killed, two injured in Dolakha landslide during hydropower survey

A man died and two others were seriously injured when a landslide struck during a road survey for a hydropower project in Bigu Rural Municipality-1, Hurhure, Dolakha.
A team was working en route to the Sanima Hydropower site when the landslide, which came from above, claimed the life of 29-year-old Sunil Nyaupane of Bidur Municipality-4, Nuwakot. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment, according to the district police office.
The two other injured in the incident, identified as Bishal Budhathoki of Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, Ramechhap, and Sandip Chaulagain of Melamchi Municipality-1, Sindhupalchok, remain in critical condition.
All three were employees of Sanima Hydropower.
They were airlifted by helicopter to Kathmandu for further treatment.
The site lies near Lapchi, a remote area close to the Nepal-China border. The police are investigating for the details.
