The Achham District Court has ordered two teenage boys accused of murdering 14-year-old Ishara Khadka and 15-year-old Saraswati Khadka in Dhakari Rural Municipality-8 to be sent to a juvenile correctional home in Doti district.
The District Police Office had completed its investigation and submitted a report to the court, which ruled that the suspects—both under 18—should be held in the correctional facility while legal proceedings continue. Inspector Tek Bahadur Deuba of Achham Police confirmed that the case is now in the witness examination stage.
According to police, the victims had love affairs with the accused, and the murders were committed after the girls refused to engage in physical relations. The crime occurred in Chhinne forest, where the victims and suspects had arranged to meet while the former were grazing goats.
Saraswati was allegedly attacked first, struck on the head with a stone in a fit of rage. To make the death appear accidental, the suspects reportedly rolled boulders from above. Ishara, who witnessed the attack, attempted to run away but was also bludgeoned to death.
