Nepal Oil Corporation slashes petrol, diesel prices
Petrol cheaper by Re1 per litre, diesel and kerosene by Rs2.Post Report
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene, with effect from Monday midnight.
Under Nepal's automatic fuel pricing mechanism, the corporation adjusts prices based on the tariff received from its sole supplier, Indian Oil Corporation.
A NOC board meeting decided to lower the price of petrol by Re1 per litre and diesel and kerosene by Rs2 a litre. Additionally, the price of domestic aviation fuel has been reduced by Rs6 per litre, while international aviation fuel has been cut by 45 US dollars per kilolitre.
Consumers will now pay Rs158 per litre for petrol and Rs147 per litre for diesel and kerosene in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
In Surkhet and Dang, petrol will cost Rs157 per litre, and diesel and kerosene will be priced at Rs146 per litre. In Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj, petrol will be priced at Rs155.50 per litre, and diesel and kerosene at Rs144.50 per litre.
The corporation has announced that the prices of cooking gas cylinders will remain unchanged, despite incurring a loss of Rs269.80 per cylinder due to the revised price from IOC.
