President Paudel, Speaker Ghimire and NA Chair Timilsina meet to discuss resolving House obstruction

President Ramchandra Paudel has drawn the attention of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the National Assembly to take necessary steps to end the obstruction of the federal parliament.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina reached the President’s office at Shital Niwas on Friday.
During the meeting, President Paudel said that prolonged obstruction of House proceedings could lead to the citizens feeling despair and hinder the law formulating process.
The President, during the meeting, expressed interest regarding the initiatives being taken to resolve the House deadlock, reads a statement issued following the meeting.
Likewise, Speaker Ghimire and Chairman Timilsina sought the support of the President to resolve the parliament impasse.
The main opposition CPN-UML has been obstructing both houses of federal parliament demanding a high-level panel to investigate the recent gold smuggling case.
The federal parliament hasn’t functioned since July 26 due to continuous protests by the main opposition party.
