The distribution of 'The Kathmandu Post' and 'Kantipur' dailies is set to be smooth from Monday. The circulation of the two newspapers had been obstructed for the past one week due to a strike by trade unions.
The agreement on removing hindrances to distribution was reached after the representatives of Kantipur Publications management and trade unions hammered out an agreement during talks held at the head office of the publication at Thapathali on Sunday.
"We agreed to resume the distribution of the newspapers—which had been disrupted owing to an inconvenient situation caused by the strike—regularly from Monday, July 31, 2023," reads a point of the agreement reached between the two sides.
Kantipur management has agreed to withdraw the process of taking departmental action against some striking distributors and point in-charges. The two sides have also agreed to resolve issues related to the organisation's financial condition, among others, through a committee comprising representatives from the management and trade unions within seven days.
