TIA halts immigration services citing internet connection issues

The Tribhuvan International Airport has been experiencing service obstruction since Monday afternoon due to internet connection issues.
The server, which had been facing disruptions since 11:30am, had not been fixed even until two in the afternoon, an international airline official said.
According to Kamal Prasad Pandey, director of the Department of Immigration, the disruptions had been caused due to internet connection issues.
Issues with the internet connection, provided by the state-owned Nepal Telecom, arose sometime in the early afternoon, affecting at least six international flights.
Scheduled flights of national flag carrier Nepal Airlines; Indigo, Batik, Thai Smile, Malaysian Airlines, and Sri Lankan Airlines, have been halted as a result.
