The Department of Drug Administration has ordered the recall of two batches of Ayurvedic medicines produced by Nepali companies from the market.
The department instructed the manufacturers to recall batch number 24 of Avipattikar Churna manufactured by Gorkha Ayurved Company and batch number ‘NRPA-9001’ of Nirmal Churna produced by Bhaskar Herbaceuticals.
The department has also banned the sale and distribution of medicines from the batches.
Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the department said it found the medicines were substandard as they didn’t comply with Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India.
