Ruling coalition, Rastriya Swatantra Party cadres clash during electioneering in Kurintar

A clash ensued between cadres of Rabi Lamichhane-led Rastriya Swatantra Party and supporters of the ruling coalition at Kurintar in Chitwan on Sunday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 3pm today.
Dharmendra Sapkota, District Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, said that cadres from the ruling coalition vandalised the vehicle that was carrying party cadres for electioneering in the Muglin-Kurintar area.
Party Chairman Lamichhane was inside another vehicle ahead of the vandalised vehicle. Lamichhane is the House of Representatives candidate from Chitwan Constituency-2.
Jit Narayan Shrestha, who was part of the electioneering team of the ruling alliance, said that the dispute arose after the Rastriya Swatantra Party cadres jeered at them.
DSP Bijay Raj Pandit of the District Police Office, Chitwan informed that the vehicle’s windshield was damaged in the incident.
