Almost every year during monsoon season, the village is flooded by the Saptakoshi river and other streams that surround it.
There are around 70 families living in Gobargadha.
Hanumannagar-Kankalini Municipality Mayor Shailesh Kumar Sah said they need around four bighas of land to relocate the families.
The municipal office has already identified some locations in ward-4 and 11 to move the villagers.
Mayor Sah said they planned to complete the relocation within a year.
Many families have already moved to Koshi Barrage, Yoginiya, Hanumannagar and Bhardaha areas because of perennial flood trouble.
Gobargadha is cut off from rest of the district during monsoon. A dirt road connects the village with the nearest marketplace at Hanuman Nagar, but the link is broken off by flood waters during rainy season.
