Raj Bahadur Shahi, an elected lawmaker from Dailekh 2 ‘B’ has been elected unopposed as the Speaker of Provincial Assembly of Province 6.
CPN-UML Parliamentary Party had unanimously named Shahi for the post. He got elected unopposed as no rival candidate registered their names with the Election Commission for the post.
UML lawmaker Prakash Jwala proposed Shahi’s nomination while CPN (Maoist Centre) PP leader Mahendra Bahadur Shahi seconded the proposal.
The left alliance had agreed to provide the post of chief minister and deputy speaker of Province 6 to Maoist Centre while UML will take the post of speaker.
