CPN-UML candidates win in Damak, Jhapa
The CPN-UML has won mayor and deputy mayor posts in Damak Municipality, Jhapa, the home district of former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

The CPN-UML has won mayor and deputy mayor posts in Damak Municipality, Jhapa, the home district of former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
Romnath Oli defeated his closest contender Ram Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party with a margin of 3,155 votes. Oli secured 10,806 votes while Thapa garnered 7,655 votes.
Similarly, UML’s Gita Adhikari has been elected deputy mayor of the Municipality.
She received 12,625 votes while his closest rival Regina Bhattarai mustered 8,912 votes.
