Leaders of the RJP-N formed after the merger of six Madhes-based parties did not show up at the EC as the party could not finalise its manifesto.
A meeting of the party leaders was convened at 11 am today after an earlier meeting until 11 pm on Monday could not arrive at consensus on the draft of manifesto.
Senior party leaders Mahantha Thakur and Anila Jha reached the Bijulibazaar-based party office late.
Saying that the leaders have some reservations within the party, party co-ordinator Mahantha Thakur said that the party name will be registered at the EC soon after the resolving the problem.
“Leaders do not have discontent as spreading outside,” leader Thakur said, adding, “It will take some time as the party is formed after the unification of six Madhes-based parties.”
“We have already forged consensus in the party statute. We will resolve the problem of manifesto and some technical issues on draft soon,” he added.
Saying that the full statute of the party would be endorsed through general conference, RJP-N senior leader made it clear that the interim statute would be send to the EC for now.
