Fugitive trafficker sent behind bars

The arrestee has been identified as Ram Bahadur Tamang, 53, of Nuwakot. He was charged with human trafficking after he lured a girl from Dhading to marry him on January 5, 1992 but took her to Bombay (Mumbai) and sold her for Rs17,000 in a brothel there.
A case was filed against Tamang following a complaint from Shiva Raj Shrestha. The Dhading District Court slapped a 15-year prison term on him on June 7, 2010.
Tamang was presented before the court on Sunday and sent to prison in Dhading.
Kidnapping ring busted; 4 arrested
KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Sunday arrested four people who were operating a kidnapping racket.
The suspects were identified as Komanand Khadka, 31; Nabin Kumar Rai., 31; Kol Bahadur Thapa Magar, 31; and Ashika Pariyar, 19.
Police said Khadka was the ring leader who had previously served 10 years in prison on murder conviction. (PR)
