Financial aid to rebuild Sindhupalchok school

A sum of Rs 100,000 was donated to Shree Dhotar Primary School, Dhotar on Sunday by US-based Nepal Kasthamandap Imports.
The company based in Boston, collaborated with the oldest church in USA, Old South Church, Copley square, to raise the funds. Forty percent of Nepali handcraft items sold in the church premises was donated for the construction of school in remote part of Sindhupalchowk.
The school was completely destroyed by the devastating earth quake of April 25, 2015.
The school principal, Ram Gopal Shrestha, thanked company chairman Vikrant Bikram Rana, and old south church after receiving the donated amount.
He said that the donation would be used for the construction of wall for a new building. He expressed his gratitude for the support and said he was surprised by help from another corner of the globe. A total of 120 students study in the primary school.
Rana said he was motivated by the desire to do something to the place he belonged to.
He expressed his sincere appreciation to the golden heart of Bostonians , especially the member of Old South Church.
Dhotar is inhabited by marginalised community Majhi (fisherman). The community is badly afflicted by alcoholism and poverty. The literacy rate of the place is very poor by national standard.
