Police on Thursday arrested and made public three persons in connection with a shooting incident at a local hotel in Tarhara, Sunsari district.

Police arrested Hari Bista aka Mission, a native of Bhojpur Nepaldanda-9, who fled after shooting Jangman Rai, the hotel owner, and Torna Poudel, of Dhankuta. 

Bista’s accomplices Prashant Karki, of Gaighat, and Ankit Kumar Singh, of Biratnagar, have been arrested. According to police, Karki assisted in hiding the suspect after the incident, and Singh assisted him to buy pistol.

Police said they have recovered a pistol, two empty magazines, five bullets, and a knife from the arrestees.

DSP at Area Police Office, Itahari, Nareshraj Subedi, said Bista opened fire at Poudel at the hotel following a dispute over financial dealing.
