The government has allocated Rs 1 billion for the rebuilding of health institutes in the earthquake-affected districts.
The government has planned to reconstruct some 200 health institutes in the quake-hit districts.
Reconstruction of health facilities damaged by the earthquakes in Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga, Makwanpur and Sindhuli districts, which were affected the worst, is yet to kick off as donor agencies have failed to reach there so far. The government has now decided to rebuild the
damaged health institutes on its own, and the Ministry of Health has allocated
Rs 1 billion for the purpose, according to Mahendra Prasad Shrestha, chief of the ministry’s Policy, Planning and International Cooperation Division.
