Two die after consuming toxic mushroom

According to technical assistant of the VDC Chandra Bahadur Gurung, Phulmaya Gurung, 65, and her 11-year-old granddaughter Rabina of Kashigaun-8 died after they consumed mushroom curry.
Rabina’s sister Tirsana, 5, who fell ill after having the curry, is under going treatment at a local health post. Her condition has improved since, said a family member.
The children went to meet their grandmother Phulmaya, who had been staying at an animal shed. They had the mushroom curry on Wednesday evening. “They fell ill soon after they ate mushroom. But the other family members learnt about the incident only on Friday as the shed is in a secluded place. The grandmother died in the shed, while the children died while undergoing treatment,” said Chandra Bahadur.
