Mahesh Swar has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of the Kantipur Media Group effective from January 14. Previously, he served as the CEO of Kantipur Publications.

Swar holds a master’s degree in management and has over 20 years of experience in the field of marketing. He previously worked for Bottlers Nepal and Terai Television. He is also the president of Nepalese Marketing Association.

Swar has done a marketing strategy course from Harvard Business School and trained at HIDA, Japan. He is on the Board of Directors at Teach for Nepal and Citizen Life Insurance.

Separately, Suraj Singh Thakuri has been appointed the chief operating officer (COO) of Kantipur Television. Thakuri previously served at Kantipur TV in various capacities, including as a senior producer and host of famous programmes like ‘Call Kantipur’ and ‘It’s My Show’.

According to the KMG management, these appointments are a part of the Group’s evolution as a media conglomerate. KMG publishes the Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post dailies and caters to a broader audience with Radio Kantipur and Kantipur Television. It also runs online platforms ekantipur.com, kathmandupost.com and kantipurtv.com.
