The National Completion Workshop of the Multi Stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP) was held in Kathmandu on Thursday
Secretary of the ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation, Chargés d'affaires at Embassy of Switzerland, Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassy of Finland, and the Deputy Head at DFID Nepal marked their presence at the workshop.
The MSFP is a joint initiative of the Nepal Government and three Development Partners—the Governments of Finland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom—and has been operational for the last 4 years.
The achievements and lessons learnt of the MSFP were shared at the workshop, attended by over 80 participants representing multi-stakeholders of the programme. During the workshop a panel of national and international specialists presented their ideas in relation to the future of the forestry sector.
The MSFP focuses on four key outcomes: inclusive policy process, private sector investment for job creation, livelihood improvement of women and disadvantaged groups, and climate change adaptation and sustainable forest management.
MSFP has been working towards expanding the achievements of forestry work implemented by the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation (MoFSC) with the support of development partners. It focuses on livelihood improvement of women and disadvantaged groups, climate change adaptation and sustainable forest management among other things.
