Inaugurating the first full meeting of UML’s student wing—All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU)—at Dhulikhel on Sunday, leader Pokharel said the carrot and stick policy failed to achieve its goal. “A force was involved in constitution drafting and changing the government, but it failed,”said Pokharel, “The fear and hope policy applied to the UCPN (Maoist) leaders did not work.”
He claimed that the Maoist leaders were threatened with war-era cases and enticed with government leadership.
He said that the implementation of new constitution has no complications and said the document could be amended whenever deemed necessary.
ANNFSU Chairperson Nabina Lama said the meeting that will last till Tuesday will hold a discussion on politics and education.
