This is the maiden foreign visit of Prime Minister Oli after taking office in October last year. His visit is aimed at mending ties with the southern neighbour after it hit a rough patch following the promulgation of new constitution in Nepal.
PM Oli boarded a regular flight of Nepal Airlines this afternoon. He is accompanied by his wife Radhika, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Home Minister Shakti Basnet, Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi, government secretaries, and Reconstruction Authority Chief Executive, among other officials.
Besides the official delegation, over two dozen members of the business community will also accompany the PM to New Delhi.
House Speaker Onsari Gharti, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and government officials went to Tribhuvan International Airport to bid farewell to the prime minister.
PM Oli is scheduled to hold import political meetings with Indian ministers on Saturday.
