The protesters, however, are against the visit. Sadbhawana Party’s district Chairman Sanjay Kumar Sah said they decided to bar the President from entering the district. Singh said locals have been summoned to participate in the protest rally. The agitating Madhesi youths burnt an effigy of President Bhandari on Tuesday evening.
Shesh Narayan Yadav, Dhanusa coordinator of the SLMM, said prohibition to Bhandari is part of the protest to disallow signatories of the 16-point agreement, that led to the promulgation of the new constitution, to enter Janakpur.
Chairman of Dhanusha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shiva Shankar Sah Hira said their protest was against a personality that made negative comments on Madhes agitation despite assuming the dignified post.
