Noting that the emergence of current situation attribute to unbalanced dissemination of news, he alleged that the media should take 70 per cent of the role behind the consequence.
Addressing the special national cadres’ gathering of CPN-UML at Sauraha of Chitwan on Tuesday evening, leader Nepal said that the media had unnecessarily provoked the agitators in Terai-Madhes and the current situation was resulted when Media remained hesitant to disseminate positive aspects of the new constitution.
“We all should move cautiously. The medais ahs the role for the current situation to emerge”, he added. He directed the cadres to fight against the elements manoeuvring against UML with opinion and arguments.
Also speaking at the closing ceremony, CPN-UML senior leader and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal said although the cadres’ gathering organised by the party had been held late it came up with outcomes.
He instructed the party leaders and cadres to explicitly inform the general public on the rights guaranteed by the constitution. Lashing out at the Madhesi leaders for spreading illusion among the Madhesi community, Khanal urged the cadres to help dispel the illusion.
During the gathering four papers were presented from the party on which separate groups held deliberations. The conclusion of the gathering will be made public in the form of Chitwan Declaration in a press conference to be held on Wednesday, said UML Publicity Chief Yogesh Bhattarai.
In the gathering, party General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal, Secretaries Pradeep Gyawali and Bhim Acharya presented working papers on current issues including Madesh problems and party's views, India's blockade against the country and post constitution scenario in the country.
Taking part in the deliberations on the papers, party lawmakers from the Madhes and local leaders criticized the party leadership, accusing it of being failed to take diplomatic measures to address the Madhes issues and lift the border blockade. They accused the party leadership of being failed to take timely measures to prevent spreading of negative message about the party in the Madhes and ignoring the voices of the Madhes and Madhesi people.
Besides, voices were raised for determining the electoral constituency on the basis of population.
Lawmaker Dharmanath Prasad Saha from Siraha argued that the current problems seen in the Madhes were not big ones and these would be immediately resolved if the party leadership developed a positive perception towards the Madesh.
Politburo member Ramprit Paswan said the Madhesi leaders were always barred from rising to the party leadership and this tendency was wrong.
