As many as 26 people were found infected with dengue in the past three months in Chitwan district. The District Public Health Office shared this information today in an orientation programme on destroying the breeding places of mosquitoes. 

It is learnt that 26 people were found infected by the disease in course of testing the blood samples of 453 people. 

According to vector disease control unit official Ram KC, as many as 119 people were found infected by the disease in last fiscal year. 

KC added that five persons were killed by the disease in course of treatment in fiscal year 2067/68 BS. Altogether 729 people were found infected that year. 

The DPHO has planned to impart two-day training on destroying the breeding place of mosquitoes and implementing preventive measures from coming Sunday. 

Bharatpur Municipality, Ratnanagar, Madi, Khairhani and Kalika Municipality of the district are taken as the dengue-prone zones for the effect of the diseases. RSS
