Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula has argued that the newly promulgated constitution of Nepal featuring federal structure was the best one in the world.

Speaking at a greetings exchange programme organised by NC, Sunsari Constituency No 1 in Dharan, General Secretary Sitaula said the new constitution delivered under the leadership of NC has accorded authority to every Nepalis, including poor, Dalit, women and backward communities.

The new constitution is a document of consensus, he said, urging one and all not to misunderstand the mention of 'the State is responsible to preserve and promote the religion and cultural values' in the new constitution although it validates Nepal as a secular country.

Chaired by Constituency President Chandra Prasad Shrestha, the greeting exchange programme saw the participation of NC Sunsari President Rajiv Koirala, leaders as Harinath Bastola, Goma Parajuli, Ganga Chaulagain and Govinda Basnet among others. RSS
