50 policemen deployed to search for body of murdered American
Dahlia Yehia, who had been missing for the past one month, is found to have been murdered in Pokhara by a teacher named Narayan Poudel.
A team of at least 50 policemen is searching for the body of the murdered American woman Dahlia Yehia.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Govinda Adhikari, they have been searching for the past four days around the periphery of the Seti River, where a school teacher confessed to murdering her after a tussle."We have deployed a team which has been searching rigorously for the past four days," said Adhikari.
Yehia, who had been missing for the past one month is revealed to have been murdered in Pokhara by Narayan Poudel. She had come to Nepal to help earthquake victims. They met through couchsurfing.org, a website that provides a platform for members to find places to stay, or search for potential house guests.
Poudel, who is now in police custody, tried to commit suicide jumping off the roof of the District Police Office and is undergoing treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital.
Police have also recovered blood-stained pillow and victim’s clothes from Poudel’s room.
