Acting a tip-off, police raided the house belonging to Bhoginder Chaudary and rescued the minor, SP Saurabh Rana said.
According to the rescued minor, Bhoginder’s older brother Bahadur, 70, who used to work in Punjab, had kidnapped her in May, 2014. The girl also alleged that the brothers took turns raping her frequently over the past year.
“They used to exploit me sexually by giving sedatives in the form of tablets or intravenous drugs and beat me whenever I tried to fight back,” she said, adding that a man named Ram Dular, who is said to be a local veterinary practitioner, used to administer the drugs.
The girl looked weak, terrified and went into daze all of a sudden while talking as she was kept in a secluded place for a long time and fed sedatives.
SP Rana said they have already apprehended Bhogindar and are searching for Bahadur, the main culprit behind the crime.
Meanwhile, police handed over the minor to her mother and elder brother. The family members said they had arrived in Nepalgunj a couple of days ago in search of the missing girl.
According to the victim’s mother, they had migrated to India around a decade ago from Inaruwamal-6 in Bara. She said they have been living in a rented room in Pindi Jawaharpur, Punjab, and eke out a living as wage labourers.
