A girl has acquired her citizenship certificate through the name of her mother in Solukhumbu district.

The District Administration Office (DAO), Solukhumbu, provided the citizenship certificate bearing the number 11-01-71-02021 to Doma Lama, daughter of Phurwa Lama of Dudhkunda Municipality-9 on Friday.

Chief District Officer Jhankanath Dhakal said that the DAO provided the citizenship certificate to Doma after leaving the column of father's name empty, as the condition of her father remains unknown.

Only the name of Doma's mother has been mentioned in all educational certificates belonging to Doma, who is studying at Bachelor's third year level.

Doma said, "I was worried of being deprived of many opportunities for lack of citizenship certificate. But now I am very happy after getting it through the name of my mother."
