Ram Prasad Chualagain,60, of Kanakpur-8 died after being struck by lightning at  Bhasedhawa-2 near the Lalbakaiya river, according to police. Chaulagain died on the spot while Jite Khadka and Biswanath Raya Yadav, who were accompanying Chaulagain, were seriously injured.

Likewise, Sheikh Rafid, the 13-year-old son of Sheikh Zyaul of Pratapur Paltuwa VDC-6 died on the spot after coming under a lightning in front of his home, Superintendent of Police Umesh Ranjitkar said.

Meanwhile, a dead body of a 28-year-old boy was found at Saramujawa VDC-4, Rautahat today.

The body was found along the road side at Maulapur Bankul of the VDC and with serious head injuries. Police suspect that the youth may have been killed in a road accident.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
