IME Digital launches B2B services in Nepal
IME Digital Solution Ltd has announced the launch of its B2B (Business to Business) services that aims to facilitate various payments across stores nation-wide. The company is Nepal’s first licenced Payment Service Provider (P2P) and is inviting businesses to join the IME pay touchpoint network in the country. With the start of B2B services, IME pay touchpoint network will now be able to offer various payment services such as small value money transfer, bill payments and recharge sevices. All of this is expected to ease customers’ daily lives while saving time and money, reads a press release.
IME pay touchpoint will also be enabled to provide mobile money services like wallet registration, cash-in and cash-out services to customers.
This can be accessed via IME pay’s web portal or through an app on smartphones. The company expects the system to effectively G2P, P2G and P2P payments, including direct disbursement of social protection payments to beneficiaries in rural locations.
The firm has already set up over 13,500 touchpoints across Nepal and is planning to increase its retail footprint beyond its existing remittance agent network in order to be closer to customers. To put this plan in action, IME pay is inviting medium to small outlets, ranging from groceries, mom and pop stores, cafes, medical stores as well as potential distributors who can manage such retail outlets. According to the company, IME pay was developed with financial and technical assistance from UKaid Sakchyam Access to Finance Programme and was granted with PSP licence by Nepal Rastra Bank in 2017. The company is a digital financial services wing of IME Group that facilitates payments ranging from simple person-to-person transfers, payments to various online and physical stores, mobile recharge and utility bill payment.
IME Digital aims to make financial services accessible to common mass including the unbanked and under banked people of Nepal and contribute to financial inclusion in Nepal.
