OnePlus will be launching their latest smartphone, 5T by the end of December in Nepal. The phone will available in 64GB and 128GB storage options.
According to Oliz Store, the authorised distributor of OnePlus phones in Nepal, they are planning to release the 5T soon and are targeting to launch before the year ends. The OnePlus 5T is estimated to be priced from Rs60,000 to Rs70,000 depending on the storage option. The phone was launched globally in November.
When OnePlus was first launched, it had an interesting proposition which was to make devices that have premium features with high end specifications at an affordable price. Their first product, the OnePlus One was launched in April 2013 and offered the same specifications found on other high-end smartphones for half the price.
The Oneplus 5T is the first device from the Chinese company to incorporate full view display technology which delivers a 6.01-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080*2160 pixels. The device has a screen-to-body ratio of 80 percent. It is the successor to the OnePlus 5. 5T sports a dual rear camera setup which consist of 16 MP (f/1.7, 27mm) and 20 MP (f/1.7, 27mm) shooters.
The secondary rear camera is no longer used for zoom and portrait images like the Oneplus 5. Instead, the two rear cameras combine to group pixels together to capture enough light and dark data which results in better shots in low light conditions. Portrait mode is also available on the 5T using software to blur out the background while still keeping the subject in focus. On the front of the phone lies a 16 MP (f/2.0, 20mm) camera.
The OnePlus 5T is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and comes in two variants: 64GB storage with 6GB RAM and 128GB with 8GB RAM.
OnePlus has retained the headphone jack for the 5T. The new smartphone packs a 3,300 mAh battery which supports the company’s dash charge technology—60 percent charge with half an hour of charging.
As the fingerprint scanner has moved to the back of the phone to accommodate the nearly bezel-less display, OnePlus has included an option to unlock the phone using the front camera called ‘Face Unlock’. According to the company, the OnePlus 5T uses 100 identifiers to recognise the user’s face for quick unlock.
On the software front, the device comes with OnePlus’s Oxygen OS which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat.
