Yeti Airlines donates Rs1.49m
Yeti Airlines has donated Rs1.49 million to four social organizations as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Yeti Airlines donates Rs4 for each flight ticket sold to social causes. The carrier’s marketing manager Roshan Regmi handed over the cheques on Thursday.
Save the Children is a member of the International Save the Children alliance working for the rights of children in over 120 countries. The United Mission to Nepal is working in partnership with Nepali organizations addressing
the root causes of poverty, pursuing peace and justice for all and empowering communities to meet their needs.
Care Nepal is working for local development by involving poor, vulnerable and socially excluded groups like women and marginalized groups. Habitat for Humanity is an INGO devoted to building simple, decent and affordable housing and has addressed the issues of poverty housing all over the world.
Moreover, the airline has allocated Rs4 million for earthquake response besides assisting with transporting relief materials and earthquake victims.
Yeti Airlines has donated a total of Rs13.81 million to various social organizations since the initiation of its CSR programme in October 2006, the carrier said.
It has planted 250,000 trees in different community forests in the Far Western Region under its green project which began in June 2010.
Under this initiative, the carrier sets aside Rs20 for each one-way ticket and
Rs40 for each roundtrip ticket on the Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj sectors. “To make the CSR programme more efficient, we have recently joined hands with Blink Nepal and World Vision Nepal.”
