Colors to launch two new smartphones
Home-grown mobile brand Colors has planned to launch the K20 Droid and X116 Power smartphones this month.
The K20 Droid is a high end phone under the Pearl Black series. It is equipped with a powerful 4,000 mAh battery while the X116 Power comes under the Android X Factor series.
The Colors K20 Droid is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octacore processor and runs on Android 4.4.2 operating system. The phone comes with a 5-inch HD IPS screen and features an 8 MP rear camera with flash and a 2 MP front camera. It has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage.
According to the company, the K20 Droid will hit the domestic market this week through its distributor network across the country. Available in white golden and black golden colour options, the K20 Droid is priced at Rs17,495.
Likewise, the X116 contains a 3,000 mAh battery and costs around Rs12,000. Powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, the phone runs on Android 4.4 OS. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen.
Other features of the phone include 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, 5 MP back camera and 1.3 MP front camera. The X116 will have three colour options — black, gold and black and silver.
The company’s Marketing Manager Gaurav Hamal said these phones would add to its ever expanding portfolio. “Our aim is to launch one to two phones every month to offer a wide range of phones suitable for Nepali customers,” he added.
Colors recently rolled out the X135 Flash HD and X118 Flash smartphones under the X Factor series that are priced at Rs13,495 and Rs12,495 respectively.
The company has launched a Windows-based phone the WIN W10 priced at Rs15,395 in association with Microsoft.
It has also introduced a promotional scheme under which customers can win cash prizes. Colors has slashed prices of the X114 Quad, X113 Quad and X113 Quad+ by Rs1,030 to Rs1,705.
“With strong a sales and service network, we will continue to be the number one Nepali brand. We sold 600,000 mobile phones last year, and we aim to sell one million units this year,” said Hamal.
He added that the brand had been launched in Sri Lanka and Myanmar and that they planned to make forays into a number of African countries soon.
