The vehicle also features automatic headlamps, adjustable sports seats, leather-covered steering wheel and 17-inch alloy wheels. “We will be the first to launch this type of sports car in Nepal, and we are hopeful that it will perform well in the luxury vehicle segment,” said Bibek Bijukchhe, chief executive officer of the company.
Similarly, Syakar Trading, the authorised distributor of Honda in Nepal, is scheduled to bring out an updated CR-V facelift SUV by mid-April. The luxury SUV will be priced at Rs 9.5 million. The interiors have also been upgraded to give a refreshing appeal. The enhanced Honda CR-V features a new infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen that allows users to pair their smartphones via Bluetooth.
“Since the launch of the vehicle in 2007 in the Nepali market, it has been creating positive vibes among luxury SUV enthusiasts, and the upgraded CR-V will also receive a positive response,” said Lomus Manandhar, manager of the cars division at Syakar. The CR-V is equipped with a 2-litre SOHC, i-VTEC engine that delivers a maximum power of 149 hp at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 190 Nm at 4,300 rpm.
Likewise, Datsun’s authorised distributor in Nepal, Pioneer MotoCorp, is planning to roll out the GO Plus, a seven-seater multi-utility vehicle (MUV) by the first week of April. The company claims that the vehicle will be the most fuel-efficient and affordable automobile in its category. Gyanendra Chand, senior manager of the company, said that the MUV was aimed at people looking to buy a big family car at an affordable price.
“This will be the cheapest MUV currently available in the domestic market. Even the top-end model would cost less than Rs 2.5 million,” he said.
The vehicle is 3.995 metres in length and is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 70 bhp of power and 104 Nm of torque. Other features of the vehicle include a five-speed manual transmission and mobile docking station and 237 litres of boot space.
