Down jackets for men and women are available in various colours like black, olive, wine, orange, red and pink, and carry a price tag of Rs 5,400. According to the company, the ultra light down jackets are made of Uniqlo fibre imported from China. “We use Japanese Uniqlo fibre that ensures that the jackets are very light weight and very warm for the winter season,” said Supriya Basnet, marketing manager of KTM City.

Customers can buy various high necks, round necks and t-necks at prices starting at Rs 600. Similarly, jacket prices start at Rs 900. Mufflers cost Rs 240 and while caps cost Rs 150 at the store. Women’s vests are available for Rs 270. These clothes are made of fleece fabric. Prices have been discounted.

“We have priced the products at very competitive rates without compromising the quality at the same time,” said Basnet. The company said that it had launched an aggressive promotional campaign and a diverse product range. It also plans to open more outlets in various parts of the valley.

“We presently have nine outlets and we are planning to add three new ones this year,” said Basnet. “The response we have been getting from customers has encouraged us to expand our business.”

The company recently opened a showroom in Khichapokhari. Its other showrooms are located in Thamel, Durbar Marg, Jawalak-hel, Kapan and KL Tower. It plans to open new outlets at Gongabu, Naxal and Bauddha this year.

Established eight months ago, KTM City maintains a factory at Kapan that employs 150 workers. According to the company, the plant has a daily production capacity of 300 down jackets and 700 shirts and various fleece fabric clothes. It said it had a high-tech digital sewing machine to maintain the quality.

“Recently, we also manufactured blankets made of fleece,” said Basnet, adding that they would be rolling out various kids wear and summer wear soon. The blankets costs Rs 900-1,500.
